KEWOPA STRENGTHENS CAPACITY ON GENDER RESPONSIVE BUDGETING IN NAROK COUNTY

KEWOPA convened a Gender Responsive Budgeting (GRB) training in Narok County, bringing together local champions and leaders to enhance their ability to engage in county budget processes.

The training focused on the County Budget Cycle, covering formulation, approval, implementation, and oversight. Participants examined key documents, timelines, and entry points to understand how and when to influence decisions that shape resource allocation.

A core part of the workshop was mainstreaming gender in county budgets. Discussions highlighted the need to integrate the priorities of women, men, youth, and marginalized groups to ensure equitable distribution of resources and services.

By linking budget literacy with gender responsive planning, participants gained practical tools to track expenditures, advocate for fairness, and hold county governments accountable.

This initiative reflects KEWOPA’s commitment to equipping leaders with the knowledge and skills to drive inclusive development and strengthen governance at the county level
