1.Number and details of completed projects
The Office has achieved the following;-
– Empowerment of HomaBay County Women on leadership skills.
– Enhancement of Women Economic Empowerment through provision of cooler boxes in collaboration with Coca-Cola Company.
– Awareness creation on revolving funds i.e. Uwezo Fund, Women Enterprise Fund in all the County/Wards.
– Girl Child Mentorship Program dubbed “Mama County Says” which is done twice a year.
– Creation of the first HomaBay County Women Sacco with over 6000 registered members who are saving and getting loans at minimized interest rates.
– Advocating on Girl Child Rights in the county through various programs i.e. “hands off our girls” and back to school program known as “Ting Nyako Malo”.
– Participating in Community Health Issues i.e. Jigger Eradication program in which people were treated and given free shoes all-over the county.
– Assisting the needy in society through the distribution of relief food and giving out wheel chairs to the disabled people.
– Participating in the formation of women groups and youth groups in the county and supporting their economic activities, e.g. bee-keeping for honey production in Gwassi and peanut butter production in Rangwe Constituency.
– Starting Open Days Program in various wards in which people are encouraged to register as voters, register for I.D. Cards, NHIF, giving out births and death certificates for free.
– Participating in various fundraisings in all parts of the county to support churches, schools, organizations, students etc.
-Drafting Bills in parliament which were later approved by the legislators themselves i.e. Cancer Initiative Bill.
-Protecting the party and actively involved in party issues.
-The first Woman Representative to hold party chair in the county.
-The best ranked woman representative in the Nation.
-Employment of many staff across the county.
-A strong debater in parliament.
-The first Woman Commissioner in Nyanza region.
-Participated in the formation of affirmative action social development fund.
-Participated in the construction of market shades for women in HomaBay County in areas i.e. Kodiera in Ndhiwa and HomaBay Pier in HomaBay.
-Supporting in building fish cold storage facility at HomaBay Pier which is ongoing.
Through Affirmative Action Development Fund, she had built several toilets in the market centres across the county.
