Beatrice Akinyi Oyomo Ogolla, convened a Town Hall on Inclusive Electoral Governance in Homa Bay County. The forum brought together women, youth, community leaders, civil society actors, and other stakeholders to examine barriers affecting participation in electoral and governance processes.Key issues raised included access to political spaces, political financing barriers, voter registration and verification challenges, party primaries and nominations, violence against women in politics, and youth exclusion in decision making. Participants also highlighted practical opportunities to strengthen electoral accountability, transparency, and citizen participation at the grassroots level. The forum generated priority advocacy issues and community driven recommendations for legislative and policy action to expand inclusion in electoral processes. These recommendations emphasized strengthening protections against violence in politics, improving access to fair nomination processes, reducing financial barriers to participation, and increasing meaningful youth and women representation in leadership. The Town Hall contributes to ongoing efforts to advance inclusive electoral governance by amplifying community voices and informing engagement with policymakers, electoral institutions, and political actors.#InclusiveGovernance #womeninpoliticske ...
